BCSP encourages certificants and other safety practitioners to participate in this year’s safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) awareness campaigns, and partners with other SH&E organizations to provide resources to build workplace safety.
The National Safety Stand-Down to prevent falls in construction will occur May 7-11, 2018. Employers are encouraged to schedule work breaks in that week to discuss fall prevention and review safety practices. OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down website includes information on how to participate, ideas for action, and highlights from success stand-downs.
Safe + Sound Week is scheduled for August 13-19, 2018. This awareness campaign is an important opportunity to introduce or improve safety and health programs as part of an organizations’ work. The event highlights the need for every business, especially small to medium-sized enterprises that may not yet have safety plans, to establish a safety and health plan, emphasizing the combined need for management leadership in safety, employee participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing workplace hazards. BCSP is a sponsoring partner in the campaign, which you can find out more about on the Safe + Sound website.
Whether you are seeking material as part of these awareness campaigns, or for use in continuing improvement in your current safety program, know that BCSP has partnered with NIOSH to provide free-to-use SH&E information. This can be found on the BCSP Partners webpage.
