Central Indiana Safety Professionals Visit BCSP

Central Indiana Safety Professionals Visit BCSPThe Central Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) stopped by BCSP on June 15 for a walk-through of BCSP headquarters and a presentation on the benefits of obtaining BCSP certifications.

Around 20 ASSP members joined the presentation, including a few future-safety professionals who are currently enrolled in SH&E programs in college, to hear Erica Poff, CAE, IOM, BCSP’s Strategic and Global Relations Director, talk about the benefits of holding BCSP certification.

“There are over 300 safety certifications available to safety professionals,” said Poff. “Of those, only 19 are accredited and eight of them belong to BCSP. It’s a tremendous accomplishment to hold these certifications.”

Other benefits provided by BCSP include a salary survey calculator, the BCSP Career Center designed to help job posters seek out BCSP certification holders, scholarships, and a new BCSP Foundation! Altogether, there are over 45,000 BCSP credential holders in 66 different countries enjoying the benefits a BCSP certification brings.

For more than 100 years, the ASSP has supported occupational safety and health (OSH) professionals to help prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. There are more than 37,000 members in 80 countries and are dedicated to making the world a safer place.
