Board of Certified Safety Professionals May 12, 2026 1:16:03 PM
BCSP’s Qualified Academic Program (QAP) Workgroup has selected officers to guide its efforts through the 2026-27 academic year in supporting future EHS leaders through excellence in education.
Wyatt Bradbury of the University of Alabama at Birmingham will serve as Chair, while Marcia Oursler of Southeastern Louisiana University will serve as Vice Chair.
Bradbury is an adjunct professor in UAB’s Department of Engineering, teaching courses in system safety, prevention through design, and engineering ethics. He also serves as Principal – Health and Safety at Avetta, a risk management software company. Bradbury holds the CSP, CHST, and CIT certifications and a Master of Engineering degree.
Oursler is an instructor of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment in Southeastern Louisiana’s Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology. She also serves as the state of Louisiana’s Lead Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation Investigator. Oursler holds the CSP certification and a Master of Public Health degree.
The QAP Workgroup serves as a collaborative body of academic representatives focused on partnership, research, and continuous improvement. It fosters a community of forward-thinking educators committed to enhancing student learning experiences and preparing the next generation of EHS professionals to lead and innovate.
QAPs are programs whose curriculum is a substantial match for the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) blueprint, allowing graduates to apply for the Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) designation upon earning their degree.
