General

Effective Date: January 1, 2015

• Modifications to the BCSP ByLaws go into effect

Eligibility/Application

Effective Date: March 1, 2015

• The Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer® (CET) credential requirement will only be met by holding either the Associate Safety Professional® (ASP), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Industrial Hygienist® (CIH), Certified Safety Professional® (CSP), Chartered Member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH), Construction Health and Safety Technician® (CHST), or the Occupational Health and Safety Technologist® (OHST)

Effective Date: April 20, 2015

• The Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer® (CET) credential requirement will be met by the Certified Dangerous Goods Professional (CDGP)

Effective Date: July 1, 2015

• Applications submitted on paper forms will be charged a $25 processing fee beginning on this date

Effective Date: November 16, 2015

• Illinois State University’s Bachelor of Science in Safety is a Graduate Safety Practitioner® (GSP) Qualifying Academic Program (QAP)

Effective Date: November 30, 2015

• The Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer® (CET) credential requirement may be met by holding the Safety Trained Supervisor® (STS) and Safety Trained Supervisor Construction® (STSC) certifications
• Training hours required to achieve the CET will be reduced from 270 hours to 135 hours

Examination

Effective Date: Second Quarter, 2015

• The Associate Safety Professional® (ASP) examination will change according to its regular update schedule, following a new ASP blueprint

Recertification

Effective Date: August 1, 2015

• Recertification will be available online, in the Certification Management System (CMS), and paper Recertification Worksheets will be removed from the website

Effective Date: November 30, 2015

• Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer® (CET) Recertification requires a minimum of 3 points in teaching, developing, and/or attending courses on instructional techniques every 5 years (Category 7)
