May 14, 2020

BCSP is Accepting Nominations for its Board of DirectorsThe Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) is actively seeking nominations from individuals who wish to be members of the BCSP Board of Directors.

Potential candidates for the Board must hold the CSP for at least five (5) years and be in good standing. In the election process, an over-riding goal for BCSP is to ensure that there is a wide diversity of professionals in safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) practices included for the governance of BCSP. This diversity is based on geography, industry, areas of specialization, and other characteristics found in the profession. Holding additional certifications is strongly encouraged. Any former BCSP Director who has not served on the Board within the past seven (7) years may apply to be considered as a nominee. Other qualifications include being free of potential conflicts of interest, ability to comply with the BCSP Fiduciary Policy, knowledge of the BCSP Bylaws, having at least five (5) years of senior leadership experience, and breadth of experience in the SH&E practice. BCSP Directors are prohibited from participating in the development, translation, production, copying, publication or distribution of, teaching of any course, program, workshop or materials which are not created by, designed by or developed by BCSP and which are specifically directed toward preparation for any BCSP certification examination at any time during their service to BCSP. Directors typically devote an average of 2 to 4 hours per week to BCSP matters and attend semi-annual meetings (April and November) to complete official BCSP business.

A one-page cover letter is required with all submissions. Within the letter, please address the following:
