Government Affairs

Why is BCSP Involved?

BCSP wants to ensure that when lawmakers make decisions that affect safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) practitioners, they are doing so with the most accurate, up-to-date information about the safety profession. BCSP’s focus in government affairs is to ensure that the interests of certified safety professionals and practitioners are consistently and accurately represented in relevant legislation and regulations.

What does BCSP do?

BCSP engages in advocacy activities that include outreach, education, and awareness-raising around laws, rules, and/or regulations at all levels of government (federal, state, and local). These activities may be initiated and led by BCSP or conducted in coordination with BCSP partner organizations and certificants.
