Open positions

Accounting Specialist
Seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, organized payroll and accounting specialist to join our rapidly growing organization. The ideal candidate will be proficient in processing Indiana payroll, with multiple jurisdictions, and experienced in processing general accounting transactions and reconciliations.

Payroll responsibilities include:

  • Performing payroll operations resulting in bi-weekly multi-jurisdiction processing of paychecks in compliance with Federal, State and local laws.
  • Ensuring that all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Recording changes affecting net wages, including exemptions, insurance coverage, 401(K) deferrals and HSA contributions for each employee.
  • Managing the garnishment process.
  • Processing special compensation such as bonuses, commissions etc.

Additional accounting responsibilities include:

  • Processing day-to day financial transactions, including remote check deposits.
  • Issuing weekly Accounts Payable checks.
  • Assisting with daily account reconciliations and monthly journal entries.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 5 years of Indiana and multi-state payroll processing experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll tax laws, with specific emphasis on Indiana.
  • Solid understanding of wage withholding orders and garnishments.
  • Solid computer skills including proficiency with MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Apex Payroll software or Dynamics Great Plains Accounting software considered a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a preferred emphasis in Accounting or Finance.

Business Development Manager
A strategic job opening within BCSP creates an exciting opportunity for an outstanding business development professional who can create strong relationships and sell safety, health, and environmental professionalism through certification and certification services.

Candidates must have either a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Safety, or a related field, or equivalent work experience and have at least three years’ successful experience in business development. A broad knowledge of the safety, health and environment field, and practices at all levels, safety and health and industry organizations, government agencies and other potential users of safety and health certifications is a plus. Must have excellent oral, presentation and writing skills.

Significant travel is required for meetings, presentations and situations requiring representation of BCSP. The person filling this position will typically work from our office in Indianapolis, Indiana. The salary for this position is commensurate with the experience and capabilities of the person and our total compensation package includes a generous benefits package and performance bonus plan. Examinations Manager
BCSP is seeking a highly-motivated Examinations Manager. This person will be responsible for leading and managing projects related to high-stakes test development and deployment. This includes activities such as developing new examinations, recruiting for and facilitating role delineation studies, developing blueprints, overseeing item development, developing examination forms, deploying test forms to exam delivery provider, managing test processes, and revising exam forms under psychometric guidance. This person will manage a small team of Examinations Specialists and will work in conjunction with our psychometrician, all of whom report directly to BCSP’s Examinations Director.

The successful candidate will have experience with high-stakes test development and in coordinating volunteer groups for examination development. Excellent writing and grammatical skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, personnel management experience, and outstanding project management and planning skills are required. Knowledge of the safety, health, and environmental industry is a plus, as is holding BCSP’s CSP certification.

This work must be performed in our office in Indianapolis. A remote working arrangement will not be considered.
