National Safety Stand-Down and Safe + Sound Week 2019

Published on Wednesday, March 20, 2019

Falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees. According to OSHA, in 2017 366 of the 971 recorded construction fatalities were caused by falls from elevated positions. Deaths due to falls are preventable, and with OSHA's National Safety Stand-Down, BCSP and other partners are attempting to prevent falls in construction. General information about National Safety Stand-Down can be found in the chart below. More information can be found on the National Safety Stand-Down website.

Safe + Sound Week is designed to help organizations develop successful safety and health programs that can diagnose and circumvent hazards in the workplace. BCSP encourages all organizations that are looking for an opportunity to show their commitment to safety to take part in Safe + Sound Week. For more information visit the Safe + Sound Week website
