The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) is expanding its offerings with the creation of a new interactive pre-examination training program titled ExamCORE, to support safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) practitioners’ professional development.
Requested by safety professionals for many years, the ExamCORE program will address the knowledge and skills found in BCSP certification examination blueprints, covering all the practice areas identified as most necessary by industry leaders. Practitioners will have access to mobile-friendly, online training that provides an authentic and inviting method of learning the fundamentals necessary to pass BCSP certification exams and so much more.
Entirely separate from the development of BCSP’s examinations, items and other content are currently being developed by 10 leading-edge subject matter experts (SMEs) with over 200 years of combined SH&E experience. The SMEs involved include published authors, academics, and practicing SH&E professionals, all dedicated to a safer world through professional advancement.
When launched, the program will provide an online, interactive, adaptive learning experience. The program includes exercises, several hundred practice test questions, and additional references for those who desire extra practice. Users will choose their pathway through the training areas based on their unique knowledge and experience with the material, with learning guided through video tutorials led by actual SH&E practitioners. They will be able to take courses at their own pace, review what they need, and stop and start as they wish.
BCSP’s ExamCORE program will provide a viable and more affordable alternative to classroom training, granting greater flexibility and more pre-exam preparation opportunities for global practitioners. Each course will contain challenging questions and begin and end with a test to ensure knowledge is effectively communicated.
Scheduled for release later this year, the ExamCORE program, beginning with the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) modules, will support safety professionals on their successful path to certification. As development continues, more information will be shared on these new offerings.
