CSP Assumes Vice-Minister of Mines of Ecuador Position

Fernando Benalcazar named in Ecuador as Vice-Minister of Mines

Fernando Benalcazar CSP, has been named as Vice-Minister of Mines of Ecuador. 

Benalcazar was appointed to the position by the Minister of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources in September. He has 26 years of experience in the extractive industry and obtained the Certified Safety Professional® (CSP®) certification in 1998. 

Benalcazar is also a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and is a founder of ASSP's Ecuador Section. He has provided project management and support to international projects in Syria, France, Canada, Oman, Venezuela, Columbia, Brazil, U.S., and Ecuador. 

Benalcazar holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering from COPPE at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and currently serves as Society of Petroleum Engineers' (SPE) Ecuador Section President.
