CSP Award of Excellence
Sanjay Jaiswal, CSP, CIH, CIT, SMS is a Safety Specialist at the Kuwait Oil Company and has over 31 years of experience in SH&E management and consultancy in the midstream and downstream oil and gas industries and projects. He has significant experience in implementation of SH&E management systems for process industries including project safety, risk assessment, PSM, and fire prevention.
Jaiswal has a bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering and is a Professional Member of ASSP and an administrator of the Global Operations Practice Specialty. Formerly, he was a Past Executive Committee Member for the ASSP Kuwait Chapter and served as the head of the training committee, treasurer, and secretary.
Jaiswal has presented at various international HSSE Conferences and published technical SH&E articles in National Safety Council, India Journal, and the ASSP bulletin. He was awarded with Best Technical Paper Presenter at the second Kuwait International HSE Conference and was awarded Kuwait Oil Company’s C&MD HSSE Award. Additionally, Jaiswal was declared the winner of the Safety Professional of the Year (SPY) Award by ASSP Region IX and the SPY Award by the ASSP Kuwait Chapter.
Jaiswal’s most significant contribution to SH&E is his dedication to mentorship. He has helped approximately 20 professionals achieve credentials, and he is recognized as a BCSP mentor.
ASP Award of Excellence
Rasim Qureshi P.Eng (Alberta) CSP, ASP, CFPS, CCPSC is a professional chemical engineer with over 24 years of extensive industrial experience in chemicals/petrochemicals, oil refineries, and EPC.
Qureshi graduated in 1995 from the University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan and joined Engro Corporation (formerly Exxon) in 1997 as Graduate Trainee Engineer for their ammonia complex. In 2002, he joined SABIC, a chemical engineering company, as a Safety Engineer and was involved in consequence modeling and the development of HSE management systems and process safety management systems.
Qureshi also worked for ADNOC refinery as a Process Safety Section Head and as a Senior HSE Advisor for Engro in their polymers, chemicals, and PVC complex. In 2012, he joined SNC Lavalin in Canada as a Global Safety Engineering Manager.
He currently serves as the HSSE Support Manager for Qatar Petrochemicals where he is actively involved in implementing the DuPont process safety management system for a mega ethylene, polyethylene, and EDC/VCM complex.
Qureshi has received the Manufacturing Excellence Award from Engro chemicals and several other HSE awards for his contributions in safety. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), and a CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC).
Throughout his career, Qureshi has been able to drive performance and make significant leaps in multiple HSE and process safety programs. Having worked in a wide range of the biggest companies and different cultures, from North America to the Middle East and Southeast Asia, he has demonstrated the ability to integrate and effectively orchestrate work with a variety of cultural groups. Leveraging his global network, he is a key contributor in business development, recruiting, and connecting across industries.
CHST Award of Excellence
David R. Jones, SMS, CHST, STSC began his safety career at 38 years old after experiencing the death of a coworker. The event inspired him to leave his job in quality control to pursue a career in safety where he would have the freedom to help others.
In his 25 years as a safety professional, Jones has worked for a major construction company on a large highway project. Eventually, he became the head of the safety division for a regional company where he served as both a facilitator and mentor to an inexperienced staff.
Jones’ safety career has taken him across the country. He has worked on the World Trade Center rebuild, Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts, and highway, railroad, and airport projects. Currently, Jones is the Director of Environmental Health & Safety at Flatiron Construction Corporation and collaborates with other contractors on the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel project and manages other staff and projects.
Jones is on the Board of the Safety and Health Council of the Carolinas, is a member of his local ASSP chapter, the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA), and Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). He has led the company he works for into a partnership in OSHA and has worked with Slippery Rock University, among others, to intern and provide employment opportunities to future safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) leaders.
In 2005, Jones was awarded the Walsh Group’s Matthew Miles Walsh Award. In 2006, he was awarded the Rising Safety Professional Award from the National Safety Council (NSC), and in 2013 he was awarded the Chesapeake Region Safety Conference Safety Professional of the Year.
He believes that the workplace can be a safe environment with proper planning and communication, and that the legacy of a positive safety culture lies in the hands of the workers.
STSC Award of Excellence
Clint Wolfley, CSP, CHST, STSC has 16 years of experience in the safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) industry.
Wolfley currently serves as UCOR’s Safety Systems and Services Manager. In this role, he is responsible for all environmental, occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, radiological protection, emergency preparedness, safeguards and security, quality assurance, training, and contractor assurance system programs. He led UCOR to four straight years as a VPP Star of Excellence award winner and has been recognized individually with the National Safety Council Rising Star Award.
Before joining UCOR, Wolfley served as Executive Director of Business Development for the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). In this role, he had oversight for the development, strategy, and implementation efforts for the Business Development Department. He primarily focused on professional certification for SH&E practitioners and certification programs for individual organizations, markets, and industries.
He previously worked for AECOM and its predecessor companies as a Safety and Health Senior Manager for Washington River Protection Solutions LLC, Hanford, Washington. He managed a multi-disciplinary team that provided project management, cost estimating, field operations, industrial hygiene, industrial safety, construction safety, and fire protection support to the operations and infrastructure that encompassed Hanford’s 56 million gallons of highly radioactive and chemical waste.
Wolfley also served as the Manager of Environmental Safety and Health for Sellafield Sites in the United Kingdom, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of the S&H program for the decommissioning, demolition, and heavy civil construction projects at the Sellafield Sites.
Wolfley has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Boise State University and a Master of Science degree in International Construction/Project Management from the University of Florida.
