Margaret M. Carroll, CSP, P.E. is President of Margaret M. Carroll Consulting Co., providing consulting services in occupational safety and health systems, risk assessment and management. Her education includes undergraduate degrees from Louisiana State University and Delgado College, as well as graduate degrees from University of New Mexico and Central Missouri State University.
Carroll was formerly the Manager of Safety Engineering at Sandia National Laboratories, where she led a multi-disciplined team of specialists to assure safety and health in developing safeguards and surety of nuclear weapons, explosives, overall occupational safety standards in field test, machining, fabrication, construction and human factors engineering. She served as acting area director for the U.S. Department of Labor – OSHA in New Orleans and New Mexico. Carroll was employed as a safety engineer at The Boeing Company in New Orleans on the NASA Apollo Project.
Carroll was elected President of the American Society of Safety Engineers. She also served on the BCSP Board of Directors, and was its President in 2011. Carroll was a member of the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH) under the Clinton and Bush administrations. She is an ASSE Fellow, and has held the CSP for 40 years.
