Dr. Michael Larrañaga, CSP, Appointed to the NIOSH Board of Scientific Counselors

Dr. Michael Larrañaga, CSP, CIH, P.E., was appointed to the NIOSH Board of Scientific Counselors by Kathleen Sebelius, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, in February, 2012.

He will serve a three-year term on the Board, which conducts research, experiments, and demonstrations to advance occupational safety and health.

An advocate for BCSP’s Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) program, Dr. Larrañaga is the Department Head of the Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology program at Oklahoma State University. He also serves as a Director for ABIH, and is a member of ASSE, AIHA, and NFPA.
