The Index will be archived every year so you can easily find when changes became effective. You will also be able to access future changes so you will know in advance when a policy will be implemented.

While you may be utilizing the latest web browser and staying current with the wide variety of internet tools, many others have never even thought about upgrading or using something new. Consequently, users still access the internet using outdated and non-industry standard compliant browsers and applications.  The downside to this is users tend to have a poor internet experience.

We recommend using the latest web browsers and other downloads to make your interaction with our website easy and enjoyable. As a courtesy, we have collected links to make it easy for you to install the latest and greatest.  The best part is these tools are all free, so you can download them all and see which works best for you.

Internet Explorer 8. The most popular browser on the planet is Internet Explorer. However, many have never upgraded from the version originally installed on their computer. If your business or IT department requires you to run Internet Explorer, it’s best to upgrade to the latest version if you are not already running it. Download Internet Explorer 8

Mozilla Firefox 3.6. One of the leading web browsers available, Firefox features a vast array of Add-Ons to make your web surfing fun, as well as, safe without sacrificing performance. Firefox is considered one of the most secure browsers available.  Download Mozilla Firefox 3.6

Google Chrome. The newest addition to your browser choices is Google Chrome. The Google-branded browser has many of the same features as the other web browsers, but is still in Beta testing. If you use any of the other highly-regarded Google applications such as Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Reader or iGoogle, you will be instantly familiar with the simple interface. Safari 4. If you run a Macintosh, the default browser is Apple’s entry in the market - Safari. The browser is lightning fast, but does not have the Add-On features of Firefox and Chrome. Microsoft no longer supports Internet Explorer for the Macintosh and has conceded to Safari. Download Safari 4

In addition to utilizing the latest web browser, we recommend adding two additional free applications – Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash.

Many computers today already have a Portable Document Format (PDF) reader installed. Even if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader, it is worthwhile to download the most recent version of the software. Just like the web browsers, it is a free download and will allow you to download and open the many PDFs in our various PDF Libraries on the website. Download Adobe Acrobat Reader

If you frequent popular video websites such as YouTube or Hulu, it is likely you are already running Adobe Flash. The BCSP and CCHEST websites feature Flash-based videos, as well as BCSP’s YouTube channel. Without Flash, these videos are unplayable. Again, the application is a free download from Adobe and makes a huge difference in your web surfing experience. Download Adobe Flash
