Check out BCSP’s new online directory called the Library Of Safety Practice (LOSP). Although BCSP does not loan out its books, every volume in our 1,000-volume library has been read by professionals and found to be relevant to the broader practice of safety. Whether your interest is in occupational safety, fire protection, ergonomics, system safety, security, environmental protection, or construction, the LOSP can provide you information on books and texts related to your own practice or other practice areas.
Candidates for any of BCSP’s certifications may use the LOSP to provide insight on information related to specific areas, as outlined in the respective examination blueprint. If you are studying for an examination and you know you are weak in certain blueprint areas, use the LOSP for information on recognized publications related to those areas. You can elect to buy the publications, or find them through public interlibrary loans. Remember, content in BCSP examinations is not based on any particular book or text.
Experienced safety practitioners can use LOSP to find information for upgrading personal or corporate libraries. In addition, BCSP welcomes recommendations for publications which ought to be added to our library. A future update to the LOSP may include a way for safety practitioners to comment on the books we maintain in our library.
