BCSP directors and staff are returning from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) conference in Boston and the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) 100th year anniversary celebration in Chicago.

We had a fantastic time at both events, discussing our safety certifications and listening to the experiences of safety professionals from all over the world.

At the NFPA conference, Sparky the Fire Dog celebrated his 60th birthday, Marshal Tom from the "Marshal Tom's Safety Station" television show stopped by our booth and we had an excellent view of the Junior Fire Fighters as they demonstrated their fire safety skills across from where we were set up.

At ASSE's Safety 2011 the atmosphere was amazing, as about 5,000 people gathered and demonstrated what keynote speaker Daniel Pink described as "a strong sense of purpose." There are a number of reports on the conference and a very informative, official Safety 2011 Blog.
