Collecting Items for BCSP Examinations

Would you like to contribute to the safety, health, and environmental profession and earn recertification points while doing so? Become a BCSP exam development volunteer!

BCSP relies on the expertise of our certificants for the creation and revision of our examinations. For over a decade, item (exam question) writing teams consisting of certificants have been helping grow BCSP’s bank of items for current and future exams.

BCSP uses an online item writing system coupled with web meetings, which means that safety practitioners from around the world are able to participate.

There are three ways to contribute:

  1. Item Writing Teams: Join an existing team of writers that meet in person in your area, or work with BCSP to charter your own team with other certificants.
  2. Virtual Item Writing: Participate online by writing items directly into our item writing system and attending web meetings from virtually anywhere.
  3. Item Writing Workshops: Travel to an in-person panel meeting hosted by BCSP where you will collaborate with other experts to develop and review items.

BCSP’s item writing program ensures that BCSP examinations are reflective of current safety, health, and environmental practices.
