BCSP Developing a New Safety Management Certification

June 2, 2016

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) is organizing a panel that will define the requirements of a new safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) management certification.

Development of this new certification will begin with formation of this panel, created as stakeholders express interest in a certification that tests safety professionals for the knowledge and skills required of senior safety management. Further details will be forthcoming as industry needs are assessed.

BCSP is now seeking 8 to 12 Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), certificants as well as non-certificants, that have the required experience and/or education. If you meet the qualifications as detailed here and have experience in the knowledge and skill areas listed, we would like to invite you to submit your resume for consideration as a SME panel member. If you know someone who meets these requirements and is interested in participating, please feel free to share this news with them.

Selected volunteers will participate in two 2-hour test definition webinars to be held July 18 and July 25, 2016; a 3-day in-person job analysis panel meeting in Indianapolis, IN beginning at 8 AM August 9 and ending at 4 PM August 11, 2016; and two 2-hour follow-up webinars with dates to be determined.

All those interested in participating should submit their resume for consideration to Susan Gould, CSP, ASP, OHST, CHST, STSC, BCSP’s Examinations Director, at susan.gould@bcsp.org no later than June 15, 2016. Those selected to participate will be notified by June 30, 2016.
